Hello beautiful souls,

How have you been? I’ve missed writing to you, but I hope everything is going well! Another month has passed us by and look at us strolling straight into May in a few days!

I told you about a couple of weeks ago that I went on a 2 days trip to feed my wanderlust and I shared with you on Instagram pictures from the places I’ve visited. However, it was about time to sit down and tell you more about the trip and my outfit choices and so on.

So, let’s start with the beginning of the trip. Oh man… So if you know me, you’d know I’m not exactly a morning person which makes me a late person lots of times, which is also something that I am working on. But if you know me well, you know I hate being late for important things and more especially for things where other people depend on me/ on me being there. So on the Friday before the trip I scheduled my alarm bright and early for Saturday morning. I was going to tidy up the room too and have breakfast and put on some make up and so on. What actually happened was – I woke up completely disoriented on what, where, when and looked at the time and tried to wake myself up and remember where I was supposed to be. And it turns out I woke up 7 minutes after the time I was supposed to leave the house. Great, huh?

Turns out I set my alarm on weekdays only and of course, the trip was on a Saturday. So, please learn from my mistake, guys and triple check your alarm is well set.

Still, going on a trip with one of my most down to Earth, rational friends helped as she assured me there’s no time to panick and that I should just get ready as fast as I can and go! We actually got there in time and we even waited for a bit before the coach left, so yes, I did end up going on a trip. But the morning was stressful and not exactly what we needed.

So I ended up doing my make-up in the bathroom of a pretty local cafe where we had breakfast – yes, that is how glamorous life can be when things don’t go as planned! However, after that it was all good and we started enjoying our trip and having fun.

We spent the day in Oxford – had an amazing desert at George & Danver – so if you’re in town do try it – and then we headed to Stratford-upon-Avon. We watched an amazing modern version of Hamlet which included African dancers and funny bits and then we called it a day! We spent our second day wandering through Stratford-upon-Avon, a lovely place that has quickly made its way to my heart! Of course, we went for desserts again, at Hooray’s this time, so again, a place to try if you’re ever passing by!

As we did a lot of walking and I was already quite tired after a busy week at work and a day in London so I wanted to make sure I’m really comfy throughout the weekend! I already praised these shoes for being ultra comfy so they were my go to! Jeans and a sweater seemed to be the easier combination, and a long trench to match the ever-changing weather! For the second day I had quite a similar outfit, but changed the sweater to a turtle neck!

Making such a small change allowed me to only travel with this backpack and as I didn’t want to carry too much, it was perfect!

All in all, a bit of travelling around was overdue and I had a good, fun weekend with my friend that kindly agreed to be my photographer too! So below you can see her skills in all their beauty and get a glimpse at my outfit shot in front of the Christ Church in Oxford!

Hope to speak to you soon!

Much love, D.
