Check, mate?

Check, mate?

Hey there, beautiful reader! December snuck up on me quicker than I got to say ‘Christmas is coming’ and now I find myself completely unprepared for what I consider one of my favourite times of the year (the other one’s summer time because I’m a summer child and I live for the July sun!). Also, I usually find this time of the year very exciting but this year is ending with me still being on a hunt for a job and a purpose to follow my masters coming to an end which turned into a few months of uncertainty. Now, if there is something that I don’t like, that is uncertainty. Spontaneity, yes, all for it, uncertainty, not so much. Because uncertainty means everything is out of my control, which sometimes brings great things into my life out of the blue, and I am very grateful for that, but sometimes, it just makes me question every single thing. However, this also means that my tolerance to uncertainty has been greatly tested these months so maybe it was just a lesson I had to learn and it will prove of great help in the future, we shall see. I’ve been spending this time focusing on myself while on this search which people might call check mate given how many times I’ve put myself last while being very busy. However, is it check, mate? Because as much as I’ve enjoyed having time for myself and my friends, I miss being busy, having a purpose, making a change. I’m the type of person who is satisfied at the end of the day...
Autumn Colours

Autumn Colours

Hello beautiful, I hope your week started well and that you’re enjoying your Monday so far! I thought we should start the week with some thinking about what to wear this autumn. Even though this weekend was kind of sunny and brought me back to summer mood (just strange English weather being strange) I do realize that it won’t be summer forever unfortunately and so I would have eventually to give up my summerish looks and put on some cozy sweaters! But I still have some summer vibes to show you from this unexpected summer weekend we had, and if there’s more to come, I ain’t complaining! But focusing on autumn, it might be a bit depressing with all the colours fading away giving space to a gray background, so I say we stay away from that by adding some colour to that gray view, what do you think? I never thought that colours are only for summer or that when fall comes, colours have to be fading, not at all! I love to see a red hat or an electric blue coat on the street. It just brings you back to life, isn’t it? Of course an all black errthaaang outfit always finds its place, but a little colour never hurt nobody! With that being said, here are my autumn colours, that I for sure will be looking for: Burgundy In my eyes, burgundy has autumn written all over it. It can be either lipstic, bag, hat or a huge scarf (I would not say no to a coat though). Bottom line – it has to be part...
Travel Fever

Travel Fever

I have already revealed to you my love for travel and most recently, my love for Amsterdam. Which is where I shot this pictures too. And then I wonder, why do we enjoy traveling so much? Because we already know that leaving out of a suitcase is not the dream, I have been doing that for quite a long time now and I can’t say it’s my favourite part of moving around. However, I keep moving around. I am a person that gets bored easily, I have discovered this past year, so I thought it may be the reason, but it’s not. Don’t get me wrong, I will absolutely love the moment when I will settle down and have my own place and my suitcases won’t be so mandatory, it’s just that I still don’t know when or where. But that’s because I chose it this way, you’d say. And it is true, I know. But I still love it. It’s not easy, but the excitement that I get everytime I am packing to go somewhere makes me look like a little kid that cannot wait to go on vacation. Which probably is exactly what I am like. But it’s not that, it’s the fact that I am curious, that I am convinced that you never stop learning, so I want to see and learn as much as possible, and I don’t think that’s possible by staying in the same place. You have to see more cultures, more people, especially, more different people, that will show you more point of views. And so, you learn. Ever since I have...
It's Getting Dark

It's Getting Dark

Well, it really is! This is what I have witnessed every day when coming back from the university. It is bad. I haven’t had any time to walk around, get lost around the city or to sit around in a cute cafe. Don’t even mention going out, apparently my student life is not based on that, at least not yet.. I am thinking it may be karma. My friends from back home in Romania are always telling me that I am so lucky to have so little class time in England. Well let me tell you this, I really am and they are right. You probably don’t understand what I am talking about here, so let me explain myself, and at the same time, use this as an excuse of not being too coherent. So, as I was telling you, I started classes, and both this week and next week are project weeks which in translation means that you work from 9 to 5, full time, but you are not paid. Ok, yes, I am being dramatic, but well, I just want some free time, is that too much to ask frm my Erasmus experience? I don’t think so. But yeah, I know it’s just for 2 weeks and then it will get better (still haven’t been brave enough to check my timetable though). But hey, you learn something from everything, right? So let it be, I’ll go through it, hopefully with a good grade and then I’ll get to make my travel plans and go out and eat more chocolate and explore new places and enjoy this semester...
Casual Chic

Casual Chic

Good morning, darlings! I wanted to start this last working day of the week and get you into the weekend with these pictures that I shot before leaving for my holiday back home and I never got to show you. I shot them on an early morning too (hint: the big coffee mug), so I thought I’d relive the moment and this time share it with you too. I love cozy coats. They’re everything. You can just wear a simple shirt and sneak into a cozy, big coat and you’ll feel great and warm for the whole day. And if the coat comes in a great colour, then even better! As this one did. I love how the mustard colour blends in with the backround. I shot these pictures at the racecourse in Worcester and I never would have thought that they’d turn out as amazing as they did. All that green behind me just make a great contrast with this great coat. Oh, and my hat! I am in love with hats, and remember I had a post wondering what should I invest in? (here) Well, I decided to go for the hat, and I got this wool hat that is just perfect! I am really picky with hats so when I find one that looks exactly how I want it, I just go for it so here it is! To be honest, this is one of my favourite type of daily outfits: it’s simple, but classy, it’s casual, but chic, it’s really easy to come up with and it still looks good. Have a great weekend, my...
