A Modern Touch

A Modern Touch

As I said on Monday, today I take Joan Holloway as a personal inspiration and show you my modern interpretation. I brought Joan in our times, but kept the classy touch. To keep the vibe, I wore an all vintage outfit, except for the Zara pumps, and strolled down the street with a Mad Men attitude. However, instead of making an old-style bun, I chose to drop the curls and straighten my hair, for a different look. My point is, an outfit inspired from a 60s – 70s look makes a great summer choice or an office look. If we’re talking about the classic pencil skirt and shirt combination, it’s all in the colours and the shirt chosen. I went for a summerish, flower print, tied around the waist shirt, and for a wider skirt in a bright colour, which made it perfect for a summer walk. That does not mean that in order to make it a great office look, you need to constrain yourself to dark colours. It can also have these colours, just choose a different shirt, maybe a simpler one, and don’t tie it. Also, for a more formal look, a bun might look better. It’s all about picking a bit of inspiration from here, a bit from there, and mixing it all in the end! I really liked this outfit and the classy touch that it has, so Joan for sure knew what she was doing when she was rocking those looks! Let me know what you think of finding inspiration in a series/ an older decade, if you like my interpretation and of...
Standing in the Sunlight

Standing in the Sunlight

Now that is that time of the year when the library is the main place to be, I am happy everytime I have a bit of time to escape from it! And if the sun happens to be shining at that time, I really don’t mind! So, I didn’t shy away this time either, it was so cloudy that when I saw the sun finally sneaking in through the clouds, I knew it was the perfect time to go out and do some pictures! I have barely any make up, an orange sweater on to match with the sunlight and some pearls accessorizing my look, with a little cute D hanging from my bracelet! I am in England, sun doesn’t shine often and when it does it doesn’t last for too long, so when I see some bright sunshines, I step right in front of them! Some people can’t stand having the sun in their face, but me, I simply love it! The moment the sun touches my face, I immediately start to smile! As a result, my face is all white (not that I’d usually be a tanned person or something), I actually had to be told when to open my eyes, as I was blinking all the time, but I really loved this vitamin D filling session! Oh, and as it’s been raining quite a lot recently, the river is out and so are the swans, exploring the shores, so I got a few shots with them too! I hope some sun from these pictures comes to you too, and enlightenes your weekend, making it bright and shiny...
5 Christmas Gifts for a Fashionista

5 Christmas Gifts for a Fashionista

Christmas is right around the corner! Some would say we’re already running out of time for buying gifts, but don’t panic, I am coming to the rescue for the ones that are kind of stuck and don’t know what to buy to their fashion-addicted girlfriend/wife/mum/sister/friend etc. So, let’s get it started… 1. A Chanel bag This is forever going to be my number one and actually I don’t really expect it as a gift, as I want to buy it myself, but as I know a lot of people that want it, I am sure you can’t fail with this gift. A Chanel bag is always a choice, no matter the occasion, just point to a fashionista that would say no to it! 2. A piece of Alexander Wang x H&M collection The collection is a masterpiece, so it’s impossible to not want something from it, so run and buy her something from it, or if she already has some, complete her collection, you won’t hear a negative reaction, I promise! 3. Ed Westwick’s “I AM ALL ABOUT THAT BASS” sweat shirt Is there something else I should say? I have been waiting for this since Gossip Girl ended, and now with Megan’s song, this came at a perfect time! And on top of it, parts of the proceeds go to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. So, you’re getting the Bass and doing a good thing! Hurry up, 5 days left: https://represent.com/ed 4. Something from Beyonce’s shop Something, anything: either she’s mad about having the platinum edition of the album or she wants one of the amazing T-shirts or the “Flawless”...
Autumn Coffee

Autumn Coffee

Seriously now, whenever the cold kicks in, what is the first thing that comes into your mind when you think of how you want to spend your day? I will tell you mine: having a great coffee with good friends in a cozy coffee shop! I admit, I don’t get to do it as much as I would like to, but this is what I am doing anytime I have a free day, I call some friends and we get together in a cute coffee shop. When I don’t get to do so, I still crave the coffee to replace my lack of sleep, so I take one to-go and I enjoy it thinking that sooner or later, some free time will appear and I will go back to a coffee place to relax and have a slice of cake, of course (that is complete relaxation, isn’t it?). So, until then, I just run around with a cup of coffee in my hand and it’s become even better since they have those Christmas special cups, like the one in the pictures, they remind me that a holiday is just around the corner! But before talking about winter, let’s stick a bit to autumn, which was the reason behind this whole outfit. I don’t know if it’s because of the falling leafes, but I always pictured a combination of orange and green tones as the perfect way to describe autumn through colours. So, this is what I did with this look, I pictured the fall! I really liked how the tones combine and also the fact that they worked so...
