Gut Feeling

Gut Feeling

Hello my dear, It’s September, the only time of the year apart from New Year’s Eve when people see it as a new beginning, school either ends or starts or there is a new job, a new place, a new opportunity that is being taken and a new chapter that opens. But with all that comes the doubting for the right decision, the doubting in your own powers, in your capabilities and in your chances. Not today. So to to that I have only one thing to say: you have to go with your gut feeling. I’m in a period of my life where I cannot doubt myself or overthink (mainly because my dissertation deadline is way too close for that but also) because this is it. University is over, trial is over, it’s time to step into the real world, take my inner child with me and find my way as an adult while going confidently in my direction and building a life that I love and that I will be able to say I am proud of. It’s that time when we all ask ourselves if we’ll make it, if it’s all worth it, and we start second guessing our gut feeling which got us here in the first place. But to solve this, I know I only have to say one thing: YES, I do trust my gut feeling. Yes, there will be a lot of trial and error, yes, sometimes I will need people to see the best in me while I won’t, and yes, sometimes I will change paths unexpectedly and start over, but...
Checking In

Checking In

Hello my dear, As you’ve probably noticed on my InstagramĀ I have been checking in and out of airports and hotels lately so I thought I’d check in here as well and give you my latest updates as I’ve been absent from the blogosphere for a bit. As much as the blog is on my mind every single day, I had to move it further down my priorities list so I haven’t posted as often as I would have liked to. However, I have been shooting outfits, brainstorming content ideas and I have some concepts so good that I just know you’ll love them! But as you probably already know by now, I’m quite self critical and so my work has to reach a certain standard – mine! Which is probably the harshest of them all! So it’ll be a while until I implement all the changes, but when I do, they’ll look just how I want them. Until then, while I (try to) stay on top of my busy lifestyle, I thought I’d share with you this outfit that goes easily from day to night, allows you to run around doing errands and ticking things off your to-do list, all while looking well put together, and when the night comes, just take the blazer off and you’re ready to catch the happy hour! In all seriousness now, I’ve found that living in a busy city while being a busy girl really means that your outfits need to be very versatile, especially when working in the fashion industry – you never know what event you might end up to after...
Game Time

Game Time

Hey dear, I cannot believe how time flies and it’s already February as I’m writing this. And at the same time, January felt like a year in itself. Mixed feelings. Either way you look at it, if you think January took its sweet time or that you basically rang NYE straight into February, I think we can all agree with the forever going around quote – January was a trial month, February is game time. So, how’s the game going? With the Super Bowl just gone and quite a few good football games this weekend, it seemed appropriate to ask. However, I am not talking about them, we all know football/soccer game reviews can take pages, so I’ll stick to my subject. How’s the resolution plan going? Did you manage to start ticking things off the list? Well, let me tell you my status. I started January very motivated, like damn, this is my year. And that mood hasn’t changed, I am still on track to making it my year although, I did spend most of my January in the library, breathing and dreaming about my assignments only and the rest of the time, recovering. So, my motivation was there, but somehow, I was lacking time. So I used this trial month to reflect and decide I need my planning to be even more specific and timely. It’s all about SMART goals, peeps aka Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and in a Time frame kinda goals, in case you missed the Marketing class, I explained it all when I set my resolutions – see them here. So now that January...
Bergen Brand UK launch

Bergen Brand UK launch

Hello there, So while getting better and catching up on things, I realised that I never told you about this great event I attended a few weeks ago. So here’s a little update… Bergen Brand is a well known brand originated in Norway. Bergen is a beautiful city that inspired Renate Stormark, the brand’s designer, to create timeless pieces that echo her values – quality and taste. It had its launch in the UK a few weeks ago at Wolf & Badger and the guests were mesmerized by the pieces and agreed that it’s a great added element to the London style. The event was a success and as I handled the Public Relations for it, I can say it was an amazing experience and I have met some inspiring people from the fashion industry! Have a look at how the event went and a few testimonials from the night here: As you can see, it was all joy and laughter, and guests were delighted with the designer and to see her great pieces. I believe London can only inspire her to further develop the brand and create new ‘must have’ pieces. Can’t wait to see what Renate has in store, but until then, here are some pictures from the event. Excited to show you what else I’ve been working on, so stick around! Hugs, D.   I was wearing: Dress – New Look Blazer – Vintage Shoes – Primark Pictures by Modele Production/Getty...
She’s A Hustler

She’s A Hustler

Happy International Women’s Day! I didn’t want for this day to pass without a little celebration here, on Destray, as well. I know I’ve been caught up in all my other projects and haven’t blogged for a bit, but hey, I am here today and I am very excited to celebrate every single woman for her amazing contribution to this world. I am lucky enough to have a tremendous amount of women that inspire me in my life, some whom I see daily, some whom are always in my heart, some whom I cross paths with and some whom I simply look up to from far away. I wanted to publish this post along with this photoshoot because I truly believe in Queen B’s lyrics (still love her, yes!) that “Diva is a female version of a hustler”. Or at least this is how I now perceive it. I used to be put down by the fact that people called me a diva, or bossy, or a workaholic, all these words seemed to be used to give me such a bad name, to make me feel bad for what I do, for who I am. But I have learned to listen to myself before I’ve listened to others, and now I just embrace who I am. Yes, I work a lot, yes, I aspire to be fully independent and yes, I am a hustler. And this is why I chose this shoot in particular. I didn’t want to post a pretty dress, heels and flowers, only because that’s how a post that celebrates women “should” look like. I wanted...
