Gut Feeling

Gut Feeling

Hello my dear, It’s September, the only time of the year apart from New Year’s Eve when people see it as a new beginning, school either ends or starts or there is a new job, a new place, a new opportunity that is being taken and a new chapter that opens. But with all that comes the doubting for the right decision, the doubting in your own powers, in your capabilities and in your chances. Not today. So to to that I have only one thing to say: you have to go with your gut feeling. I’m in a period of my life where I cannot doubt myself or overthink (mainly because my dissertation deadline is way too close for that but also) because this is it. University is over, trial is over, it’s time to step into the real world, take my inner child with me and find my way as an adult while going confidently in my direction and building a life that I love and that I will be able to say I am proud of. It’s that time when we all ask ourselves if we’ll make it, if it’s all worth it, and we start second guessing our gut feeling which got us here in the first place. But to solve this, I know I only have to say one thing: YES, I do trust my gut feeling. Yes, there will be a lot of trial and error, yes, sometimes I will need people to see the best in me while I won’t, and yes, sometimes I will change paths unexpectedly and start over, but...
The London Life

The London Life

If there’s one question I kept getting in the past few months, it has always been ‘How’s the London life?’ and it seemed like more and more people, both from the UK and from abroad, kept asking me the same question with either a very wishful smile of hope that they’ll soon live in London as well or with a scared look for London’s renowned rush. And since the topic kept coming up, I thought I’d share an article with my thoughts on that. I have actually been thinking about it for a while now, trying to ask myself this question over and over again – on the good days and on the bad days so that when I finally sit down to write the article I have an answer that embodies it all. I have always loved London, and you’d think ‘duuh, who doesn’t?’ but not everyone does, London is that one of a kind city, that you either love or hate, there’s rarely any in between. However, before living in London, I used to fall for it every single time I visited it, and I was always drawn in by its unique vibe. So living in London seemed a great idea, even if some deemed it scary or overwhelming. I knew, though, it’s something that I feel in my soul I’ll always want to experiment, so doing what I love – fashion – in the city that has drawn me in over and over again seemed the ideal combo! And it is – oh, dear, there’s not a single day where something new doesn’t happen, a new...
Emotions

Emotions

Hello darlings,   I figured it was about time to post a little update. I have so many pictures to show you and so many things to tell you, but every day gets busier and busier and I never get to finaly finish a post. Ever since I posted the last article I have been through so many things, so many feelings. I was a part of the first Agent Conference organised by the University of Worcester, which gave me the chance to meet people from all around the world. It was a great – exhasuting, for sure – but interesting week! Right when the conference ended, my family came around for a week, I cannot believe it’s already been a month since they have been here! They came so that we can celebrate Romanian Easter together, and so we did. And then we travelled around, and spent some good, well missed time together. After that, it was back to work. And I had planned a busy month for myself, so May flew by with me running around. I took a 2 days break to attend the Vogue Festival, and then it ended with a beautiful week of celebrations – societies, sports teams, volunteers, everyone got their recognition for working hard and having a great year. And so I told you all about my May in a paragraph. See, that seems easy. But it wasn’t quite just like that. May was a month full of emotions. I have been grateful to see my family, sad to see them go, exhausted by lack of sleep, nostalgic to think that my...
Street Style @ NYFW

Street Style @ NYFW

Hey lovelies, As you probably know, New York Fashion Week it’s been happening for a few days already and it is buzzing with great collections! Make sure to catch up with them so that you can see all the trends that are coming up! Let me know what your favourites are! But as much as I love the collections, what I also enjoy during Fashion weeks is how cool and original people dress. It really is pure inspiration that you can just see by walking around! Remember the shots I took during Paris Fashion Week this spring? Here! Exactly like that, you walk around these people, and let their creativity inspire you! Since New York is always the starter of the Fashion Month, people would go out of their confort zones to make a statement and get noticed (trust me, there are loaaaads of people), and also is the only one that is not in Europe, so people step up their game big time! Here are the ones that I have noticed and liked, even though I’m sure I haven’t seen even half of it, but I tried to stay as updated as possible (I am not there after all), and see all the cool outfits that photographed considered interesting. With that being said, here are a few pieces that I really liked and that I believe make a great inspiration. Do you agree? Have you seen cooler ones? Shout out in the comments! x Much love, D. Fashion Five

Fashion Five

This week, to post my Inspirational Monday article, I decided to just take it back to where all this started from: my passion for fashion. I started this because fashion is indeed my passion, is part of me, and I really enjoy showing my creativity through it. On the other hand, you know that I believe in the “Keep it simple” saying, so I don’t want this post to be boring or anything, and to get to the bottom of my “nostalgia moment” I just want to thank you for your support which has increased significantly lately! This is exactly what made me think of the start of Destray, and even if it’s still in the beginnings, it’s slowly growing day by day, and my only regret is that I don’t have more time to manage it, but, as I always do, I will find the time for passion, in other words for fashion. So, if I didn’t make it quite clear by now, by repeating this word continuously (sorry about that) this week the inspiration comes from the word fashion, so I don’t just want to share quotes about fashion, I want to show you quotes that actually start with this word, so that they sound like statements, praising our mutual love for fashion! As always, I hope they inspire you and your style, and don’t forget, no matter what, keep it classy! That still is the best way to honour fashion! Have an amazing week! Love,...
