Summer Stories

Hello darlings, I have truly missed this, missed writing, missed you! I cannot believe my last post was in June, whaaaat? Time truly flies. And I know I ended that post with the willingness to keep writing and get back to regular posting, and for a while I really thought I would! But I ended up reaching a different conclusion and took this 3 months break, and I thought it’s time I’ll get back to it and start by telling you why… In June I have just finished my bachelor degree and as much as it has been an amazing experience, got out of it with a First Class degree, many friends and invaluable memories,  I also felt the need for time away. It’s been a very intense year where I struggled at times to stay composed and fully committed to everything I got involved in. Knowing that, I planned my summer accordingly and it was all about travelling, spending quality time with friends and family and figuring out my next steps. I even debated changes for this baby, Destray, but as good things take time, I figured I could keep posting in the meantime, because – let me tell you – while I was travelling I shot so much content and I am way too excited to share everything with you. But I am taking it one step at a time – one of the lessons I have learnt this summer and part of the new adult version of Diana, whom I’ve noticed is changing by the day so I am just trying to get to...

Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself

Hi darlings, How’s your week going? Getting excited for the weekend? I say today we take things slowly, one thing at a time, step by step, and try to enjoy the journey. Every time I see that quote “People wait all week for Friday, all year for summer, all life for happiness” it just haunts me, because if we get carried away, we might actually get to spend our lives like that, waiting for better times, and I refuse that. Ever since I have come to England I have pretty much been on my own in my spare time and so it gave me a lot of time to think and of course overthink so many things. And I will be honest with you, all this thinking did not always have a good outcome. Yes, I usually am positive and confident, but, as all human beings I do break down sometimes. Because I am tired, because things don’t work, because, because… There will always be something. Or sometimes, my case really, it’s just little things that won’t work or that get me worried and so, make me put my life decisions into perspective. And that’s when all the questions start rolling in my head: did I take the right decision? should I have done that? or that? And I start getting my head around all these until I put myself down. And it’s not ok… I am all for encouraging yourself and giving yourself the courage and the determination to go for it and make bold decisions, but then, when does that empowerment  turn into self-criticism? My friends always...
Summer Wishlist – Destray Edition

Summer Wishlist – Destray Edition

Let’s stop lying to ourselves. Fashionista or not, at least since the 1st of June hit the calendars we have started thinking about what we are going to do this summer. And somehow, it is all related to our fashion choices, think about it: where am I going? To the beach? I need a swimming suit. Am I working this summer? I need summer office outfits. Going to a festival? You got the point. So, as last Monday we decided what is mandatory for the summer, this Monday we indulge ourselves with a bit of dreaming towards what do we want in our wardrobe this summer…Naturally, while thinking about this, I made a never ending wish list, which I tried (really tried) to narrow it down to 5 things I really want this summer, so here we go: 1. Long vest I have wanted one for a while now – basically you can wear it with everything from shorts, jeans to dresses and skirts, it would get you out of every don’t-know-what-to-wear-it-with kind of day, and you’ll look great too! 2. Shirt dress As you know, I love shirts, and they are one of my to-go things, when it comes up to daily outfits, so I had to turn this into something more summerish, and I found the perfect choice – a shirt that I can wear as a dress! 3. Comfortable sandals with a thick heel So in the summer I want to be comfortable, but I also want to wear heels, and not only on special occasions, but on a daily basis, for a walk, etc. Which...
