Disconnected

Hello my darlings, I’ve been craving writing here for quite a while now. I know I disappeared from the blog and social media almost completely in the past few weeks, and trust me, it wasn’t great. I’ve discovered that living with the head in the clouds and being always super trustful is not amazing, as you might find yourself with your phone being stolen. And then you realise how much of your life actually consists of you holding that little device in your hand… So while realising that, I came to the conclusion that a 3 weeks phone detox was not that bad, I just wish I planned for it instead of having to pay for its cause. Anywaysss, things happen for a reason and you learn best from your own mistakes so I came to terms with all that happened and I went back to spreading positive vibes only! 🙂 Another effect of me being phoneless was that I had more free time! If you ask my friends they will roll their eyes and say that I barely ever have free time as I live on a schedule and always have things planned. Which might be true, buuuut in my defense, I do try and make them part of my schedule as much as I can! So while I did not have a phone, I spent more time with my friends, more time taking long walks, having deep conversations and laughing out loud. I read more, I planned more (old habits die hard) and I got to enjoy the offline life a bit more. Don’t get me wrong,...
All things Vogue

All things Vogue

Hello darlings, I know I haven’t posted an Inspirational Monday in a while, but I thought it’d be a good moment to do that as this Monday comes right after a weekend filled with so much inspiration! If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you’d know I spent the weekend in London attending the Vogue Festival. It was the first edition I have ever attended and obviously, I was really excited! And it was all worth it, it was a great experience! The festival went on for 2 days and it was filled with a lot of great talks and masterclasses as well as a huge tent in Kensignton Gardens where fashionistas could take advantage of great offers and have some amazing experiences. The talks that I chose to attend on Saturday were Alexa Chung’s Style Clinic with Lauren Santo Domingo and Derek Blasberg and “The Allure of Paris cool” with Isabel Marant and Caroline de Maigret in conversation with Lisa Armstrong. The first show was very interesting and showed a different perspective of fashion, from 3 people with very different styles and at the same time, different inputs in the fashion world, but they all agreed that in order to make it into the fashion world you have to work your a** off, no joke! That, and that the fashion world is not such a cruel one after all and you can still be a good person and work in fashion! 🙂 The second show made me feel like I am in France at a small table in front of a cafe sipping on some good wine...

Tourist in Oxford

Hello beautiful souls, How have you been? I’ve missed writing to you, but I hope everything is going well! Another month has passed us by and look at us strolling straight into May in a few days! I told you about a couple of weeks ago that I went on a 2 days trip to feed my wanderlust and I shared with you on Instagram pictures from the places I’ve visited. However, it was about time to sit down and tell you more about the trip and my outfit choices and so on. So, let’s start with the beginning of the trip. Oh man… So if you know me, you’d know I’m not exactly a morning person which makes me a late person lots of times, which is also something that I am working on. But if you know me well, you know I hate being late for important things and more especially for things where other people depend on me/ on me being there. So on the Friday before the trip I scheduled my alarm bright and early for Saturday morning. I was going to tidy up the room too and have breakfast and put on some make up and so on. What actually happened was – I woke up completely disoriented on what, where, when and looked at the time and tried to wake myself up and remember where I was supposed to be. And it turns out I woke up 7 minutes after the time I was supposed to leave the house. Great, huh? Turns out I set my alarm on weekdays only and of course,...

Hello beautiful, Oh how I longed to write a few lines around here again! It’s crazy how unexpected life is and how you constantly have so many things to do and in the end you end up postponing forever the things you actually enjoy doing most. Lately a few of you have been asking me what’s going on with the blog, if I’m not planning on posting anymore or why is it that I have been so absent. And that is because, as I’m sure some of you have noticed, ever since I started my placement and working full time it has been harder to post as much as I want and to organise photoshoots since a lot of my time was already booked. There were good times when I posted quite a lot and not so good times when I didn’t post at all for weeks. Trust me, there wasn’t a day when the blog was not on my mind, or when I wasn’t thinking about new outfits that I could post and new creative things that I could share. But I don’t like sharing with you things that I am not 100% true about or pictures that I don’t believe are of enough quality to show you. In other words, I like to be completely involved. Half involvement will not do. And who knows me knows that this is how I am with everything I do. So, ultimately, that is what happened. I was physically and at some point, mentally too, unable to give my 100% to everything. But show always must go on, and since this...
Birmingham Christmas Market

Birmingham Christmas Market

Hi guys, How have you been? It’s been freezing lately, and I am finally starting to understand that winter is here – that’s it, there’s no turning back. Or is it? It’s England, so it might just turn sunny all of a sudden, you never know. Either way, upgrading my winter wardrobe is in the books, so I shall go for a shopping session soon. And of course, share with you my picks – no worries, I’ll keep you posted! But, as November ends, apart from outfit shopping, we all know it comes the exciting part of the year – buying Christmas presents!! Aaand along with the window shopping that we’ve all been doing so far (you know it) there is this pretty cute thing that also comes around called Christmas Market! If you haven’t been to one, it should definitely be on your wishlist! It’s like entering a totally different, Christmassy, fairytalish world where everything is decorated to match the theme, the stalls are full of hand crafted pretty little things or very tempting food! And not to be forgotten – the mulled wine, hot chocolate and the chestnuts! Those are my favourite part of any Christmas fair! Last Sunday we went to visit the Christmas Market in Birmingham, which is a German one, and, as every year, it didn’t disappoint! It got all of this, and a cozy atmosphere, with Christmas songs and even a live singer! Spending a day at a Christmas Market with good friends made my Sunday great! Now that I think about it, when I was back in Romania, I never got excited...
When in Leuven… #todolist

When in Leuven… #todolist

As promised, my last post about my Erasmus talks about stuff to do in Leuven. If there is something that I liked about the city it’s that, even if small, there was always something to do, and places to see, and well, you could never get bored. First and foremost, there’s the Oude Market – as many bars as you can count, but you will probably lose your counting abilities if you try them all at once. However, together they get the title of “Longest Bar in Europe”, so that’ something you have to try. They also take huge pride in their beers, so if you are a beer lover, you shall visit their Stella Artois factory that is also in Leuven. Giving that I am a lady and I am not really a fan of beers, I usually seek for flavoured beers instead, and so I came to find the Kriek, and ever since I found it, was the only type of beer that I chose whenever there was no wine. It has a really nice cherry flavour, so if you are into that, I would recommend you to try it. If not, I am sure you will find something that you like, there are hundreds… But let’s make this clear, beer is not the first thing that I looked for when I was in Leuven, it was chocolate…or waffles? Knowing myself, I think both. For chocolate, there is a cute, little Leonidas on the main street into the center that gives you the chance to pick & mix pralines, and while you are walking through the city,...
