Summer with a Twist

Summer with a Twist

Hello, my darlings!   I’ve missed this, I’ve missed you! It’s been a summer with lots of ups and downs, more downs than I thought so I never got in the right mindset to come back here and write a new blog post.   But I’m back and really planning to not dissappear again any time soon!   I’ve shared a bit on my insta stories but not as much as I preferred to live offline for a bit more this summer. You know me, relentless, tireless and forever busy. By now, probably how most people describe me. So when I reached a point where stress was taking over most of my life and I wasn’t going to take a proper break, willingly, my health kicked me down, literally, so much so that I was forced to take that break. Turns out my body’s been aching for a while and I ignored it and so my organism became weaker and weaker to a point where I had to completely change my lifestyle and start taking medication to help with the shift. But with my immune system being down that caused a chain of infections and as a result, a month later I’m still not close to the end of the treatments.   Why am I telling you all this? Because I know I am not the only one that goes hardcore for what she wants or what she needs to do, trying to make not one, not two things, but everythingggg perfect all at once. Sounds familiar? Or know someone like that? Then please read this or share it,...
Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

Hello darlings, Merry Christmaaaaas! I hope everyone’s Christmas is amazing and that you are spending it with people you love and that you took a moment to slow down this rush we live in and to appreciate the people around you. Appreciate what they do for you throughout the year, what they do for the world, how they make it a better place for you to live in. I am sure there is at least on person, family, friend, even a stranger that deserves a thank you and some kind words. As I grew up, I realised that Christmas was less about the presents that got me so excited as a kid, and more about me being blessed enough to be able to spend it with my family, to have a few days of appreciation towards them and their support, to step back and realise how much I have and how little others have and really think about it, you know? I let it sink in and I let it make me a better person and a more grateful person. We get lost sometimes in the rush for a goal, for a good degree, for a great job, for our dreams. And you know how vocal I am about people following their dreams! But you have to slow down and appreciate that people are still with you through it, they still love you, they still stand by you, even in your rush. And that is something that I really cherrish. Family is everything and I always put it first. And moreover, this year, I realised who are the friends...
Birmingham Christmas Market

Birmingham Christmas Market

Hi guys, How have you been? It’s been freezing lately, and I am finally starting to understand that winter is here – that’s it, there’s no turning back. Or is it? It’s England, so it might just turn sunny all of a sudden, you never know. Either way, upgrading my winter wardrobe is in the books, so I shall go for a shopping session soon. And of course, share with you my picks – no worries, I’ll keep you posted! But, as November ends, apart from outfit shopping, we all know it comes the exciting part of the year – buying Christmas presents!! Aaand along with the window shopping that we’ve all been doing so far (you know it) there is this pretty cute thing that also comes around called Christmas Market! If you haven’t been to one, it should definitely be on your wishlist! It’s like entering a totally different, Christmassy, fairytalish world where everything is decorated to match the theme, the stalls are full of hand crafted pretty little things or very tempting food! And not to be forgotten – the mulled wine, hot chocolate and the chestnuts! Those are my favourite part of any Christmas fair! Last Sunday we went to visit the Christmas Market in Birmingham, which is a German one, and, as every year, it didn’t disappoint! It got all of this, and a cozy atmosphere, with Christmas songs and even a live singer! Spending a day at a Christmas Market with good friends made my Sunday great! Now that I think about it, when I was back in Romania, I never got excited...

Back Home for Christmas

I am so glad and grateful to be coming home for the holidays! As soon as I got in the house I could feel that “home” feeling and it filled me with joy and brought a smile on my face that didn’t go away yet and doesn’t seem to dissapear any time soon. But, apart from being at home, enjoying time with my family and catching up with good friends (and having lots of hot chocolates) what I also enjoy about coming back from Christmas is that I get to wear those clothes that I didn’t take with me. Those clothes that give me a feeling of comfort and well-being. Like this sweater for example – it is a vintage sweater that I simply adore wearing during winters! It’s cozy, it’s long and a bit baggy, so it is just perfect to keep you comfortable all day long! Oh and on top of that, it has sparkling stones and glittery words on it, so what more to ask? My point is, when I come home, especially for Christmas, I want to feel good on top of looking good, I want to create memories to take with me, I want to laugh as hard as I can with my friends and I want to share special moments with my family. This is what I want from my holidays, and this is what I am wishing you too! Love, peace, great people around you and special moments to be remembered! So I will wear my cozy sweaters, my long-forgotten heeled boots that I rediscovered and I will hit the town with...
