How to Set Resolutions

How to Set Resolutions

Hello darling, I hope you enjoyed your Christmas and/or your time off and you’re now ready to leave 2017 behind, to learn from it and to set your goals for 2018. As I’m sure I’ve told you before, I always see December as a reflective time, and I often think about how my year has been, what I have achieved, what I could have done better and what I have learnt throughout. And then I sit down and write my resolutions based on that. I know a lot of people see resolutions as a cliché, so let’s call them goals. Following my past year’s reflections, setting goals seems the natural next step. I have always written them down on NYE or on the next couple of days, but I have learnt a lot throughout the years so they have also changed significantly. To share with you my wisdom and help you set goals that you will achieve and that will make you proud of yourself, I put together a little guide. These tips are all from my own experience and my own point of view so please, do let me know if you have any further add-ons! 1.Set goals that you can truly bring to life. So many people see their resolutions as wishes instead of goals, so they end up writing down ‘I want to fall in love’ or ‘I want to be famous’ etc. and then, if they don’t happen and they can’t tick them off at the end of the year they just assume they failed and end up saddened by their incapability to achieve their dreams....
Red for Good Luck

Red for Good Luck

There is this tradition in Romania that says that if you wear red while stepping into the new year, you will have a year filled with good luck. So I thought I’d keep that in mind while choosing the third option. We can all use a bit of good luck in 2017, right? And thinking “go hard or go home” I didn’t add a bit of red, I chose a red dress. Actually, I wore this dress at a New Year’s Eve party and I still find it very nice and easy to wear. It’s a light material, it looks good, you can move around in it and dance ’til dawn and – the most important bit – no one will see how much you eat! Smart, huh? This outfit made me think about dancing a lot, so I chose medium height heels, so that nothing can stop you from grooving all night long! The hairstyle is also an effortless one, that won’t make you worry if the hair is staying right or not – you just need to have fun! As the outfit is so easy going, I wanted the accessory to be the same. When I saw this Anamelia Fashion choker I pictured it with a day outfit, something casual, but I liked so much how it looked with this that I decided to stick to it! Are you thinking about dancing your way into the new year? This is the perfect look for that, don’t you think? Let me know! x Kisses, D. Brick & Lace

Brick & Lace

Hi lovelies,   How are you? Still enjoying the Christmas leftovers and the “I’m on holiday” excuse to procrastinate? Because I sure am! But, as I promised you, I am determined to help you dress up for NYE so here I am with my second outfit option. This time I chose to combine some pieces and fabrics that I usually don’t. However, giving that I am away and I have to work with what I considered I might find useful and put in my suitcase, I have spontaneously decided to try these 2 on together and see how they look. Surprisingly, I liked it. Moral of the story – try that top with the skirt you really love, and you might end up loving the result. So, suede, satin and lace came together, in a combination of close colours – brick like and made up a great outfit. Anamelia Fashion provided the final touch – this rather unique choker made with feathers and so the look became a bit more special. Like the special night we’re all looking forward to – New Year’s Eve! An outfit that doesn’t make it look like you struggled too much, but that still, you know what you’re doing. I’ll let you decide what heels to add to it as mine didn’t get into the pictures, any ideas? Any ideas about your NYE look? Did you like this one? One more tomorrow and then I’ll let you decide! Hugs, D. I was wearing: Skirt – River Island Top – H&M Choker – Anamelia Fashion Pictures by Catalina...
Velvet for NYE

Velvet for NYE

Hello my darlings, How was your Christmas? I must say, mine was absolutely amazing. Spending time with my family was all I wanted and it was better that I expected! I ate soooo much food, I sang carols, I made gifts, I opened gifts, I smiled a lot and created beautiful memories. What more could I ask for? I also took a moment to really appreciate everything I have and how blessed I am. Now that Christmas is slowly fading away, our next big celebration is, of course, welcoming 2017! And once you know who you’re spending New Year’s Eve with, where and other boring logistics details, what else is left? To decide what to wear. Yes, I know, the hardest part. So to help you out a little, I paired up with Anamelia Fashion to put together 3 outfits that will hopefully inspire you to create one for yourself! First up is a full velvet look. I know everyone is into velvet these days, and as much as I am not a person that follows trends strictly, this one got me! I absolutely love velvet and everything that comes with it! So my option was a simple dress and a matching purse, which I adore, it’s one of my favourites at the moment! Add a sky high pair of heels and you’re ready to rock the new year! Of course, accessories are what make or break the outfit, so I kept it simple – black velvet choker and voilà! What do you think? Do you like velvet, would you wear it? Let me know! See you tomorrow with another...
