Parisienne

Parisienne

Bonjour mes amis, As I get comfy in my blanket on this crispy Sunday, I am thinking about my warmer days in Paris and so I thought it’s about time I share with you one of my outfits that I packed in my super small suitcase that got me to my graduation and from there to Paris, so had a mix of things – it did good though! Walks through Paris are always beautiful, I was like a kid smiling on the streets and stopping and starring at the architecture, it’s something that I always admired about Paris, and it’s what makes it unique as well. There is a top 3 things I want to do in Paris everytime I am there – walk around, eat from a boulangerie, and have an evening of wine and Macarons. And as rushed my trip seemed, I managed to do all these 3, while also attending classes at the Institut Français de la Mode. With my trip partner (who turned photographer for this post) being as in love with Paris as I am, all the wine, Macarons and cheese platters were always accompanied by laughter and good vibes! What made the trip special and more fashion focused was a trip to Kenzo’s new concept store and the story behind it as well as a visit to Yves Saint Laurent’s museum, which was extraordinary – if you are in Paris, you should definitely go! Unfortunately I did not manage to see Dior’s exhibition, but I managed to visit Colette before its shut down on 20th December so I am quite happy with all I’ve...

It Gets Me Thinking

Hi guys, I have wanted to write a post like this for a while. I have wanted to write one after the tragedy that happened in Romania, I started it, but then I never posted it. Now, I wondered for a while if I will actually post it this time, but then I decided that I should. I am writing this post with everyone affected by any of these recent tragedies on my mind. And by that I mean everyone that died, everyone that survived, their families, friends, the medical staff that helped them and the list goes on and ends with me and you. Because I can bet you have been affected by this. Or at least I know I have been. More than I thought I would have been. Of course, tragedies like these affect you. But this time, it got me thinking. And feeling. Feeling for every innocent life that ended all of a sudden. In Bucharest, in Paris, in Beirut, in Baghdad, in Japan, in all those countries that have tragedies that never reach the media and in all those households that were tear apart by something as awful as this. I have been going through a lot of feelings. I have been shocked, I have felt compassion and I have cried. I was on the phone with my friend when the tragedy happened in Paris and she told me to check the news. I did. And I was so shocked that I couldn’t sleep and I would refresh the page constantly to see updates. However, the more I was looking, the sadder I got....
Haute Couture – Destray Favourites

Haute Couture – Destray Favourites

You know I’m an endless dreamer and a hopeless romantic, and fashion wise, what brings you closest to romance and dreams are the long dresses that would make anyone that tries them feel like a princess. And who doesn’t want to feel like a princess? I know for sure I do, because what made me fall for fashion were these beautiful, long dresses and they still make me fall for them every single Haute Couture week. I see them, I admire them, and I pick my favourites for when I truly become a princess which I would want to wear. There are collections that I admire season after season, like the timeless dresses from Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad. They are the ones that always have the princess dresses and are some beautiful shows to be watched. Others, like Dolce & Gabbana always amaze me with their combination of class & extravaganza that never fails. Some choose to combine styles, some to stay loyal to the classic long, gowns. And some, like Viktor & Rolf did this year, just take it to the next level and show innovation finds ints place in the Haute Couture culture. Viktor & Rolf amazed through a collection of wearable art and I loved it! As much as I love the classic, long dresses, something new like this just gives me that spark of inspiration that we all need sometimes! With that being said, below are my favourites, gowns that I cannot stop staring at or creations that inspire me, or designs that let me speechless out of the collections that I liked the...

Paris Wonderland

Now that I am in a complete holiday and I have enough time to sort all my pictures and figure out on what planet I live and so on, I finally have time to share more about my rushing travel adventures, so I will be focusing on them as Inspiration posts for a few weeks, hope you enjoy them! So, for now, I’ll close my Paris series with a post about the actual city, and it feels kind of bittersweet..because everytime I posted a photoshoot from Paris, I relived those days a bit, and now that pictures have come to an end, all that’s left is the lunging desire to go back… I don’t even know what there’s left to say about Paris…I may probably start with the fact that I have been in Paris before, as a young teenager, and even if I visited much more back then than I did now, I haven’t fully appreciated it and so I left it not so impressed. But, I changed and I grew older and I went back and I loved it! I could walk around forever! It’s such an inspiring city! I simply love the relaxing mood that you get in when in Paris! It’s probably because of the French culture which is more bohemian, but that’s what you need sometimes, to be a dreamer and stop worrying and enjoy some macarons, a glass of wine and taste some good cheese! With that being said, I would always want Paris to be my getaway city, one of the cities that I would go for inspiration, so I wouldn’t move...

Remake in the Sun

Helloooo!! So, the first part of my semester here in Belgium has come to an end and now it’s time for a long-waited vacation! The end of it came with an International Week which was fun, we got to visit a new city – pictures coming soon – and we went Ice Skating, which I love and missed and bowling, so it was definitely more fun than the first Project Week, but even so, got me really tired by the end of it, so I was lunging for this weekend! And so far it has been a really good one! It couldn’t have been any other way, since a really good friend came visiting, and expressing her chocolate crave all the time, so naming yesterday a “sweet” day is literally no exaggeration! However, this is the start of 2 relaxing weeks  and so many assignments to start writing on  so I really hope they’ll be good to me and that I’ll get to enjoy them to the max! As for today’s outfit, since I have seen some hope today, with a few sun rays trying to brake through, I decided to show you a remake of a wintery outfit that I really liked and that I wore in Worcester (here). And what better place for a summerish remake than Paris? Exactly, none. So in one of the Paris Fashion Week days, I decided to wear this lovely combination of colours that I adore: burgundy and that blue! Pure love! Of course, the hat and sunnies had to be a part of it too, but these were not the star...
